Credit & Copyright: Steven Davis from Hayward, CA Tufa Sunrise 3:Here is the final picture of Steven Davis's three part Tufa Sunrise series. Due to tributary water being diverted for use in Los Angeles, Mono Lake's water level dropped 45 feet in the years between 1941 and 1982. Due in part to the efforts of the Mono Lake Committee, Mono Lake is now heavily monitored with 9 feet left to go to meet its target water level.
