Death Valley Dunes: "We woke up at 4 am to head out into the dunes near Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley. The temperature was a cool 80 degrees for the pre-dawn hike into the sand. As the sun broke over the mountains in the east we were treated with a lovely display of light and shadow across the sand dunes. It really was a magical time and place and I hope my photo captures the feeling."
