Fence posts are a frequent perch for snowies as they scan the wide flat fields of Ontario for prey. I didn't consider photoshopping out the fence since it's an integral part of the owl's life space.

To add to my former comment: Yes, the barbed wire has a special effect in that it shows how exquisitely and enviably free the owl is, to be able to transcend such obstacles. :)
