The Badlands: An exotic landscape stretches to the smoky horizon in The Badlands of South Dakota. The drab, sandy colors of the dry hills contrast nicely with the fluorescent greens and yellows of the prairie. Like the pinch of salt in cookie dough, the brown and rugged hills bring out the beauty of the grasslands.

Great job, Liane. We live not too far from here anne I've photographed it many times, always concentrating on the striated colors of the sandstone. It's marvelous to see a familiar scene through another photographer's eyes/lens and discover much more.The green, oh the green! The lush foreground with the dried bush make this a real winner. Brava! Thanks food giving me "new eyes" on it.
